Due to increased growth in the business and some exciting prospects on our doorstep, SCS is hiring a Construction Manager to oversee the civil construction arm of our business including providing high level project management support, working collaboratively with our Operations Coordinator and Supervisors to oversee the management of our day-to-day works, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to our broader business improvement goals.
Who are we looking for?Reporting to the Group General Manager, the position will have oversight and responsibility for the Civil Construction Business Unit. We are looking for an extremely motivated individual with the following attributes:
Champion safety as the Number 1 priority at all times.Extensive experience in safety management and proven ability to effect positive change in Safe Working practices in a Civil Construction/mining environment (or similar).Demonstrated excellence in project management as a contractor.Exceptional leadership skills managing diverse workgroups to achieve positive business outcomes.Solid commercial acumen and proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage budgets, and exceptional skills in managing a P&L in the civil environment.Robust experience developing and managing client relationships whilst ensuring a high-quality product and exceptional customer service outcomes.A pragmatic, resilient, and solutions-based outlook with a 'Can-do' approach.Sound understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and demonstrated experience in change management.Ambition to grow the business unit with extensive industry knowledge and high-level business development skills.Our ideal applicant will possess:5 years' experience working in a management position in a civil construction environment.Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate and motivate a diverse team.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions.Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.What's in it for you?Fully maintained company vehicle for limited private use.Generous bonus structure.Salary Packaging options.4 weeks Annual Leave.Training and Development opportunities.Supportive management team.If this seems like an interesting opportunity and you want to have a chat, please feel free to reach out to our Group General Manager Charlie Simkin on 0472 513 295 for a confidential discussion.
