About the team Ambulatory Cell Therapies (ACT) is an integral clinical service of the Department of Clinical Haematology.
Centre of Excellence (CoE) partners work closely with Clinical Haematology and the leads of ACT to support strategic objectives in cellular therapy.
The service aims to deliver care and management of patients and donors from collection or treatment of blood components, through to the infusion of cellular products.
About the role As a Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Cell Therapies you will have the opportunity to care for patients across the continuum of care, rotating between Apheresis (3B) and the Infusion Centre (1E).
You'll be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for patients.
A regular day will see you Administer cell therapy treatments, including stem cell infusions and CarT-Cell therapy, while monitoring for adverse reactions and providing supportive care Undertake apheresis procedures, including cellular product collection, therapeutic plasma exchange, erythrocytapheresis, extracorporeal photopheresis, while conducting high level nurse assessment and providing supportive interventions Educate patients and caregivers on treatment protocols, side effects, and self-care strategies, ensuring they understand post-treatment expectations Work closely with haematologists, oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and adherence to treatment plans Conduct regular patient assessments, record clinical observations and maintain accurate documentation in EMR to support ongoing treatment and compliance About you You will be someone with fantastic communication and interpersonal skills, who is committed to excellence in patient care and being part of an inclusive, collaborative culture.
