About the Role
You'll be more than just a Youth Worker. You'll be a mentor, a role model, and a change-maker. Your key part will be helping youth overcome challenges, building their confidence, and guiding them on their journey toward a brighter future.
You will provide trauma-informed services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families. You will offer young people safety, stability, predictability, and consistency by implementing the house guidelines and supporting the implementation of individual strategies and case plans. You will also participate in team meetings, house meetings, and case review meetings to ensure that young people receive services that meet their needs.
What Your Day Would Include:
1. Mentor and engage young people, guiding them through life skills development and personal growth.
2. Role model positive behaviors, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility.
3. Empower youth by encouraging their active participation in decisions that impact their lives.
4. Provide hands-on support with day-to-day tasks like meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and stable environment.
5. Collaborate with a vibrant team to tailor services that meet the specific needs of each young person.
6. Safeguard their wellbeing by reporting any concerns to ensure they're safe and supported.

What We're Looking For:
* A Diploma in Community Services/Youth Work or a related field (or be willing to obtain one).
* Demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care.
* A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a commitment to cultural competency.
* A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively.
Must Have or Willing to Obtain:
* Valid and Current Driver's Licence
* Valid and Current Workers with Children's Check
* Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screeners Check
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check
