In your new role you will…
1. Demonstrate ability, to provide professional leadership and co-ordination of a team of trade staff, trade assistants and contractors in the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department, including, but not limited to, coordination of Minor New Works and projects.
2. Sound Knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of Statutory Acts, Regulations and Standards applicable to building services in Queensland.
3. Demonstrate ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, effectively with staff and contractors at all levels and in all professions including external clients.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will be responsible for the co-ordination of in-house trades staff and contractors for Cairns and Hinterland Health Service District by providing leadership and technical advice to subordinates and clients on building systems within the Cairns and Hinterland Health Service District as and when required.
About your role:
4. Responsibilities of the Trade Co-ordinator are exercised through the management of in-house labour and the management and supervision of day labour and /or contractors where necessary to supplement in-house labour.
5. Organise day to day operations, work assignments and resource allocation for Q.H. trades and contractors.
6. Undertake building construction and maintenance work and carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance to comply with all applicable standards including Workplace Health & safety, Australian Standards, electricity act, regulations and code of practice.
7. Co-ordinate the acquisition of necessary certificates of inspection in relation to building construction and maintenance work.
