Risk Management is responsible for protecting the Group’s and Bankwest’s interests by offering insightful risk leadership and a commercial yet independent approach to managing risks. The Board and Regulators trust Risk Management to be the line of defence that ensures returns are achieved within an acceptable level of risk.
Do work that matters:
You will ensure that RBS Risk Management has a strong and effective Line 2 credit risk function. This will include management of internal and external relationships, data trends, and performance indicators, to ensure key credit risk metrics are within appetite including maintaining strong credit risk frameworks and control environment.
On a day to day basis you will:
* Understand credit strategies and policies for the management of credit risk across the lifecycle and in conjunction with knowledge of retail and corporate lending, applies in delivering analytical insights.
* Participate in monitoring credit risk to ensure that trends are within limit thresholds.
* Work collaboratively and productively as part of a team or independently to meet deadlines; provide coaching to team members.
* Assist in developing action plans to resolve issues. Re-design controls/processes to better manage, measure, and monitor credit risks.
* Support complex and significant credit risk management projects through exceptional analysis.
* Support Senior Managers in establishing industry risk appetite and developing risk management standards that are consistent with industry best practice.
* Execute sound credit decisioning in line with risk frameworks.

* Proven experience working in an Analytics Data role with SAS, SQL, R or Python.
* Strong understanding of macroeconomic regulatory environments and Credit Risk.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly articulate key insights and advice to diverse audiences.
* Tertiary qualified in relevant quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, or Statistics.
