Border Express currently has an exciting opportunity available for an experienced and motivated Pallet Controller to join the team at our Underwood Branch. The successful person will be responsible for managing all Hire Pallet & Returnable Equipment across the Border Express QLD depot and regional branches to deliver optimum performance against customer service requirements and compliance with all relevant business procedures – including safety, cost management, and all legal requirements. Duties: Data entry and document management. Efficient debriefing and processing of all inbound paperwork. Reconcile drivers daily run sheets, ensuring all hire equipment is accounted for. Manage and reconcile internal depot movements daily. Track and reconcile hire equipment across the regional agent network. Effective management of hire equipment through Border Express internal system and pallet control software (Pallet Watch). Investigate all discrepancies (inbound / outbound) and ensure recovery of equipment. Facilitate monthly equipment counts and manage pallet holdings regularly. Monthly Chep and Loscam reconciliations, including keeping un-invoiced transactions, rejections & corrections to a minimum. Ensure all standard pallet processes and procedures are implemented, regularly audited and non-compliances addressed. Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement to mitigate losses. Project management. Facilitate internal training sessions and attend toolbox meetings to drive compliance across depots. Remotely manage / audit regional company owned branches. Achieve reporting cadences, as required / requested. Work collaboratively with the local operations and national pallet control team to drive effective management and standardisation across the business. Skills and Experience: Love working in a challenging, fast-paced environment. Preferred experience in Pallet Control. Previous experience in the Warehouse, Logistics and Transport Industry. Ability to multi-task and navigate conflicting priorities. Project Management. Ability to engage and work collaboratively with all departments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail. Ability to follow company policy and ensure all staff adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
