About the role
We are seeking Knowledge Management Solicitors to support the Knowledge Manager in partnering with legal branches to capture and manage legal knowledge with a key emphasis on promoting effective use of the system across VGSO (including training and knowledge sharing initiatives across the office)
This role is part of the Corporate Services branch which provides critical, strategic and operational support services to ensure the continual success of the VGSO. The role will be responsible for further improving the Knowledge Management (KM) Strategy to embed a knowledge sharing culture which builds on over 170 years of legal services to the Victorian Government and public sector. The role is part of the Knowledge Management team that provides precedent development, records management and archiving services office-wide.
The key responsibilities of this role are to:
6. Develop processes and procedures to integrate contemporary knowledge management with business operations to ensure knowledge is captured through sustainable processes.
7. Capture, edit, publish and share legal knowledge via the VGSO knowledge management system.
8. Undertake legal research and analysis, where required.
9. Provide New Starter Induction training including knowledge management, advice profiling and protective markings training, and act as the first point of contact for all knowledge management enquiries from the branches, as required.
10. Implement change management processes and approaches to guide and support staff through the process of organisational change in knowledge management.
11. Identify and coordinate the review and analysis of branch processes, work instructions and procedures to maintain currency of these document in the knowledge management system.
12. Contribute to the development of the knowledge management function and facilitate a knowledge sharing culture
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in to carry out complex legal research and analysis. You have strong attention to detail whilst having a consistently high standard of work. You must enjoy taking initiative and using your problem solving skills. Previous experience with knowledge management is highly regarded.
