About the role
Reporting to the Operations Shift Leader, this role will see you carry out operating and operations-related maintenance activities as part of a multi-disciplined team onsite at Mt Piper Power Station.
This will include operation of plant and equipment as well as routine and defect maintenance, performed as part of a shift time that work 24/7, around the clock.
You will be a key player in ensuring a strong HSE culture by ensuring that all statutory regulations are adhered to and that all O&M activities employ safe work practices that are consistent with EnergyAustralia policies and procedures.
About you
Successful internal applicants will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
* A personal commitment to occupational health and safety
* Highly developed troubleshooting and analytical skills
* Well-developed communication and teamwork skills
* Experience working a shift work roster (ideally)
Whilst specific Power Station Operator training will be provided, the following qualifications and experience would be looked upon favourably:
* Experience in the control, operation and maintenance of turbo/generator units and associated plant or other large industrial processes
* HRWL - Boiler Advanced and Turbine Operation (BA,TO)
* Industry related tertiary qualifications to diploma level.
Applicants need to be willing to undergo testing to ensure they are physically capable of performing the duties of the GO1 Operator.
Please note: Applicants must be available to work 12 hour shift work including night and weekend shifts, as per the roster.
