ACCOUNTS PAYABLE OFFICER Based in our St Leonards office, Hamilton Island is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions while maintaining strong relationships with both internal staff and external suppliers.

You will work closely with suppliers and internal departments to maintain accuracy and resolve any discrepancies promptly. This role is ideal for an experienced Accounts Payable professional with a keen eye for detail and ability to handle a large volume of invoices.
Key Responsibilities Process 400-500 invoices per month, matching them to purchase orders and investigating discrepanciesEnsure all payments are correctly coded, authorised, and supported by appropriate documentationProcess cheque, EFT, BPay, and foreign currency payments accurately and on scheduleManage the Accounts Payable email inbox and incoming mail on a rostered basisAssist with month-end processing, ensuring timely closure of Accounts Payable and rolloversAction new supplier requests promptly and review supplier terms before setupReconcile supplier statements monthly and resolve outstanding items efficientlyMaintain an organised filing system for Accounts Payable documentationRespond to internal and external queries professionally and promptlyAdhere to internal policies, procedures, and best practices for accounts payable processesSupport general administrative tasks as requiredAbout You As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will bring strong attention to detail and the ability to manage high-volume transactions with accuracy. Your excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability will help you maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Your qualifications and experience include: Minimum of 2 years of high-volume Accounts Payable experienceBasic accounting knowledge highly regardedPrevious experience in the hospitality industry desirableExperience with TechnologyOne Financials (Finance One) is an advantageYou have the following skills and attributes: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelAbility to handle confidential information with discretionFast and accurate data entry skills with strong attention to detailExcellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environmentHamilton Island is much more than a great place to work – it's an amazing career opportunity.
