Role: Change and Release Manager - Predominantly Remote WorkingJob Ref: QAD263/2402Pay Rate: Competitive Market RateHours per week: 37 hours per weekContract Length: Anticipated 6 monthsLocation: SouthportFor this role you will travel as required (minimum of twice per month) to SouthportThe Change and Release Manager will lead the implementation of processes to manage releases and changes within the program while integrating them into regular operations. You will navigate complex technologies, third-party suppliers, and internal and cross-government teams to deliver a key service. This role requires making informed decisions, assessing risks, and using processes, tools, and methods to optimise technology performance. You will set the strategy for the Operational Release Management team, prioritising focus areas, ensuring best-practice processes are well-documented, and establishing templates and frameworks for process variations across services and portfolios.We are looking for candidates with relevant experience in GRO (General Register Offices) and Home Office Systems.Key accountabilities:Lead and manage the Release Management processOrganise team engagement with Incident Management during major incidents, ensuring that appropriate release management representation is made on technical bridge calls.Manage patterns or trends of non-compliance of the Release assurance policies and processes, by engaging at a senior level with Business Portfolios, Suppliers, Transition or Project Managers where necessaryEngage with service transition teams to define processes for interim operating model capabilities for those assigned to release management.Set the strategy for the Operational Release Management team, deciding areas of focus and priority, ensuring that processes are well-documented and reflective of best practice, and agreeing templates and frameworks for process variations.Key requirements:Relevant experience in GRO (General Register Offices) and Home Office Systems.Experience of developing, implementing, and adhering to ITIL v3 / v4 management processes and proceduresProven ability to lead and manage large teams.Deeply customer-focusedExcellent document writing and presentation skillsetUnderstanding of Lean, Agile and DevOps principles within a Product-centric delivery model (desirable).Test management background to effectively orchestrate multiple change and release roadmaps (desirable).
