School Of Special Educational Needs: Sensory (SSEN: S) is seeking a highly motivated Human Resource Officer to join their team.
The successful applicant will assist the Manager Corporate Services with a wide range of business operations and provide advice and support in the coordination of human resource activities. You will research and assist in the development and implementation of strategic human resource solutions to workforce planning and profiling, succession planning and budget/establishment management. You will also be responsible for the management of job vacancies, including the coordination of deployment, recruitment, selection and appointment processes.
The successful applicant will ideally have sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, as well as an eye for detail and problem solving skills. They should be highly organised, be able to meet deadlines, and implement strategy and manage Human Resource systems and processes. Applicants with extensive knowledge and experience with Industrial Relations (Awards and Agreements), leave entitlements and allowances associated with travel, motor vehicles and locality, would be highly desirable.
SSEN: S is part of the network of specialist schools that operates under the Statewide Services pillar of Service Delivery. SSEN: S provides educational support for children with hearing loss, vision impairment or dual sensory loss. The staff strive to meet the individual needs of learners by providing educational support for children and students while supporting schools to provide fully accessible learning environments, curriculum and school communities. Educational support is available across the public school and non-government system, from birth to Year 12.
The successful applicant will be located on site at Padbury Statewide Services. With many hubs located in the metropolitan areas, and across the state, this position may involve the successful applicant travelling. Applicants should hold and maintain a current WA drivers licence.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
1. Ability to provide effective support and input into the development, implementation and monitoring of human resource management systems and processes.
2. Sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with staff and work within a team environment.
3. Sound knowledge and skills in human resource management, including research, planning and recruitment practices.
4. Conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to implement appropriate strategies.
