This role allows you to contribute to projects that shape the practices, prudential regulation and supervision of life insurers.Working alongside other specialists, in this role you will:Provide specialist risk and actuarial expertise on insurance risk, capital and a range of technical and industry matters;Assess insurer practices to address key risks, which includes undertaking off-site and on-site reviews;Contribute to the development of prudential standards and guidelines;Develop and implement activities that contribute to sound supervision outcomes pursuant to the APRA mandate;Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver quality insurance and actuarial advice.APRA is seeking an experienced Life Insurance Actuary or Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Actuarial team for a 9-month fixed term contract, which has the potential to extend or become permanent.The teamYou will work with a set of committed and enthusiastic professionals in the Actuarial team, which is part of APRA’s Policy and Advice division. The Policy and Advice division collaborate and work closely to support APRA’s frontline supervisors and ensure that APRA’s prudential supervision of insurers is robust for the safety and stability of the insurance industry.About youThis role is ideal for someone with a deep actuarial understanding of life insurance or is making strong progress towards building their skills in this area. You will need to be able to manage your own workload and priorities effectively, as well as communicate clearly and persuasively with different audiences.
