This vital infrastructure project, which is being expedited as part of the Statewide Capital Expansion Program (CEP), will deliver an additional 128 inpatient beds for the Mackay Base Hospital (MBH). The core objectives/benefits of the MHEP are:Equitable local access to health services by the community for acute, sub-acute, women's, children's, and neonatal services.Improved clinical workflows and new models of care which are better aligned with the changing needs of the community.Enhanced patient flow, safety, and outcomes through enhanced functional adjacencies and contemporary infrastructure.About our Hospital and Health ServiceMackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff.
