The Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time Pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Epic Pharmacy, Port Macquarie. Escape the city snarl and enjoy a sea-change lifestyle. You will always find a parking space and be able to enjoy the lovely beaches on weekends!
Join our supportive and collaborative team located onsite at Port Macquarie Base Hospital. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will coordinate clinical trial services and provide pharmacy services to support patients and hospital staff on the day oncology unit.

Port Macquarie Base Hospital is a 228-bed level five facility with a 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services including intensive care, cardiology, geriatric, rheumatology, stroke, respiratory, oncology, renal dialysis, general medicine, orthopaedic, urology, vascular, general surgery, mental health, paediatrics, and obstetrics.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate with Slade Health for chemotherapy supply to oncology unit patients.
* Dispense and supply S100 medication and other pharmacy products.
* Provide clinical leadership in high-quality cancer care pharmacy services.
* Participate in clinical trial negotiations, feasibility, and strategic planning.
* Conduct staff training, including trial-specific training and SOP development.
* Perform medication chart reviews, reconciliation, and clinical screening of chemotherapy orders.
* Manufacture and compound cytotoxic and non-hazardous products.
* Undertake administrative, quality assurance, and financial tasks for clinical trial services.
* Our full-time, Monday to Friday roster promotes a healthy work-life balance. If desired, we provide opportunities for additional on-call and weekend shifts.
About You
As a registered pharmacist with Australian based pharmacy experience, you will have a team orientated attitude, a focus on delivering exceptional service and care to patients, and the ability to manage your own workload with good communication skills to effectively liaise with a wide range of health professionals. You will be highly driven and have high attention to detail and a passion for building on your clinical skills and knowledge.
Eligibility requirements:
* Valid AHPRA registration
* Proven ability to manage a complex clinical case load and problem solve to achieve patient focused outcomes.
If you’re interested in being considered for a Team Leader role, these are desired requirements we are looking for:
* Ability to train, coach and supervise technicians and pharmacists.
* Significant and expansive experience in hospital pharmacy practice including clinical oncology pharmacy practice.
* Experience and training in clinical pharmacy relating to cancer services
* Active membership with at least TWO of the following professional bodies is desired: SHPA, COSA, ISOPP, HOPA, BOPA, MASCC, ASCO and/or ASHP
