Primary objective Ensure the provision of high level administrative and secretarial support and assistance to the Throughcare and Support Services team at the Alice Springs Correctional Centre. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Manage and coordinate quality administrative and secretarial support to the Throughcare and Support Services team including the preparation of documentation, general correspondence and online resources. 2. Develop and maintain documentation, reference materials, official forms and resources for the Throughcare and Support Services team. 3. Provide meeting and conference support, including the development of other relevant material as required. 4. Prepare and maintain program schedules data, statistics relating to the provisions of offender programs, education and undertake minor research tasks as required. 5. Provide financial administration services including; stationery purchases and payment of invoices using a Government issued Corporate Credit Card and Northern Territory government payment systems. 6. Manage a range of concurrent administrative activities ensuring tasks are completed in a timely / efficient manner and deadlines are met. 7. Conduct file audits and update the records management system as required, maintaining a hard copy files system where required, including processes for archiving files no longer required. Selection criteria Essential 1. Sound organisational skills and administrative experience including a proven ability to concurrently co-ordinate a range of tasks, determine work priorities, meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure. 2. A high level of computing skills with proficiency in a range of computer applications, such as the Microsoft suite of software 3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a culturally appropriate manner with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, in particular experience working with Aboriginal Australians. 4. Proven ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team 5. High level of self-management, including the ability to work with minimal supervision, use initiative and display sound professional ethics of confidentiality and discretion. Desirable 1. Knowledge and understanding of working within a custodial environment operations in the Northern Territory Further information Northern Territory Correctional Services (NTCS) has a Smoke Free Policy.
