About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to provide high quality, cost efficient and effective clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients of the Metro North Hospital and Health Service. This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future. Participation in the on call roster is a mandatory component of the role.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
1. Manage the performance appraisal and development of subordinate staff.
2. Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
3. Initiate and be responsible for the clinical care of patients while in the Surgical Department.
4. Arrange patient management in accordance with the best interests of the patient.
5. Consult with other hospital staff as required with respect to patient management and related issues.
6. Document relevant clinical information legibly, concisely and accurately.
7. Ensure the post-discharge care of patients is arranged as required.
