The Reinsurance Accountant will be responsible for all Reinsurance treaties accounting and administration and reporting for the APAC regions of this leading Insurance Group including supervising bordereaux process and settlements, maintaining required reconciliations and controls of all reinsurance transactions in accordance with policy.
Duties will include:
1. Ensure reinsurance Statutory reports and schedules are accurate and deadlines met.
2. Provide report notifications and manage the impact of transactions on the statutory capital position.
3. Ensure accurate financial adjustments are delivered including calculations for reinsurance treaty premium adjustments, profit and commissions.
4. Assist the credit control function to ensure premiums are paid on time and recovery notifications issued and that reinsurance debtors are collected promptly.
5. Ensure timely completion of month end accounting process including preparing journal, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reports.
6. Completion of all local reporting requirements including withholding tax return, ABS Survey for transfer pricing reporting.
7. Assist with process review and improvement continuously seeking opportunities on process automation.
8. Build collaborative partnerships with the broader Asia Pac and Global Finance team members and the business to meet shared objectives.
To be considered you will be CA/CPA qualified (or working towards) and have previous and relevant experience in the commercial Insurance industry preferably within reinsurance accounting and financial administration. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite is essential (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database systems for managing contacts, schedules and calendars. Knowledge of SAP will be highly regarded.
