This role can be based out of our Rockhampton or Townsville office, working a 5/2 (Monday to Friday) roster. The successful candidate must be willing to travel frequently. This is a 12-month maximum term contract position.About The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and driven individual to play a key role in supporting the Wangan & Jagalingou applicant group under the Carmichael Mine ILUA. In partnership with the W&J Co-Ordinator and Bravus Head of Indigenous Engagement, this role is essential in delivering impactful training activities, cultural awareness initiatives, and mentorship programs tailored for the W&J community.You will work closely with the Superintendent of Cultural Heritage, Bravus suppliers, and contractors to identify and create meaningful employment and training opportunities. This role will also involve collaborating with the W&J Coordinator and Bravus to ensure training commitments are met and managing the budget for job readiness training. A strong emphasis on mentoring and providing guidance to trainees and employees will be central to your work, helping foster their growth, retention, and professional development.Key Responsibilities Of The Position Will IncludeManaging and delivering employment and training commitments aligned with ILUA requirements.Overseeing the W&J Job Readiness Training program and site familiarisation sessions.Ensuring compliance with Indigenous employment and training regulations through accurate record maintenance.Coordinating cultural awareness training for Bravus staff and contractors.Collaborating with Bravus suppliers, contractors, and HR teams to support trainees and job seekers through the interview process and beyond.Providing mentoring and coaching to enhance staff retention and wellbeing.Assisting with employment and supplier roadshows, including travel.Supporting the W&J Coordinator and Bravus Head of Indigenous Engagement with administrative duties.What We’re Looking For From YouNecessary Experience & Qualifications:Experience working with NFP boards or committees.Background in HR, recruitment, construction, mining, or the resources sector.Demonstrated expertise in managing a geographically dispersed caseload and working effectively with remote Aboriginal communities.Strong case management skills with a focus on compliance and best practices.High levels of responsibility in a complex working environment.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.A current C-Class driver’s license.Desired Experience & QualificationsFormal qualifications in Human Resources, Community Development, or a related discipline.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to obtain).Understanding of Indigenous Employment and Training initiatives and the challenges of implementation in Indigenous communities.If you're passionate about empowering Indigenous communities and have a strong focus on mentorship and training, we want you to join our team!
