About the Role As we continue our ambitious growth, we are seeking an experienced, hardworking, and energetic leader with a passion for hospitality and tourism. As General Manager - Tasmania, you will play a pivotal role in building the Small Wonder brand, leading the team, and ensuring operational excellence. You will work closely with the CEO & senior leadership team to drive the commercial management, strategic growth, and brand development of the Small Wonder Restaurant and Cellar Door, building our profile amidst Tasmania’s thriving wine and hospitality scene. The role will primarily be responsible for: Brand & Business Development: Establish Small Wonder as a premier destination in Tasmania’s tourism and hospitality sector. Leadership & Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Operational & Financial Oversight: Implement efficient management processes, ensuring the business operates profitably and in compliance with all regulations. Restaurant & Cellar Door Success: Drive year-round restaurant and cellar door visitation, ensuring a consistently high level of customer engagement. Systems & Technology Implementation: Oversee CRM, POS, and e-commerce systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Strategic Growth & Commercial Planning: Identify opportunities for expansion, partnerships, and long-term business growth. About You While prior experience in the wine industry is beneficial, it is not essential. What matters most is your ability to lead, strategise, and grow a dynamic hospitality business. We are seeking applications who bring: A proven track record in hospitality, tourism, or wine industry leadership. Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Demonstrated ability to drive business growth in a competitive hospitality or tourism environment. Experience implementing CRM, POS, and operational systems to enhance efficiency. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a hands-on, results-driven approach. An outgoing and proactive personality, with the ability to build industry connections and drive engagement.
