About the Role:
Be Recruitment, on behalf of a reputable not-for-profit organization, is seeking a Carer Support & Training Coordinator.
This role focuses on supporting and empowering foster and kinship carers, ensuring they have the resources and guidance necessary to provide safe, nurturing environments for children in out-of-home care. The Coordinator will facilitate training, support, and advocate for carers, ensuring a high standard of care across the program.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carer Support & Training: Deliver high-quality training and ongoing support to authorized carers, ensuring adherence to best practices.
* Advocacy and Guidance: Work closely with carers to help them navigate the care system and access necessary resources.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to facilitate seamless service delivery.
* Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with legislative requirements and organizational policies.
* Networking and Partnerships: Develop networks with key agencies, attending relevant meetings to stay updated on sector developments.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualifications: Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
* Experience: Minimum 2 years working in out-of-home care, with strong knowledge of child protection and trauma-informed frameworks.
* Cultural Competency: Experience working with families from CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
* Skills: Proven experience in networking, advocacy, and coordinating support activities.
* Compliance: Valid Working With Children Check, National Criminal History Check, and NSW driver’s license.
* Flexibility: Ability to work evenings and some weekends as needed.
