The opportunity
The key objectives of the Clinical Nurse - Clinical Research Coordinator position are to gather high quality clinical research data and maintain optimum health care to research participants at the standard of practice, in accordance with the National Health Medical and Research Council (NHMRC), Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCP) and the International Committee of Harmonisation (ICH).
The incumbent will contribute to the research team lead by a nominated Principal Investigator (PI), and to develop research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to a specific service group within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).
The VAV00007 Trial is a clinical trial, which is a multi-center, prospective, longitudinal cohort study of Chlamydia trachomatis infection and reinfection in adults aged 18 to 29 years.
Employment Term
1. Fixed Term temporary full-time up to 21.06.2025 with a possibility of an additional 12 month extension
Role requirements
2. Mandatory : Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a required qualification for this position.
3. Good Clinical Practice Certificate (GCP) (or willingness to acquire once appointed).
4. Highly desirable : Clinical experience in paediatric intensive care/respiratory area/s.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
5. Demonstrated high-level skills and ability (strategic, research, conceptual and analytical) in the planning, coordination and delivery of the responsibilities associated with health and medical research.
6. Demonstrated knowledge in the management of issues relating to health and medical research and research governance.
7. Demonstrated knowledge across the legislative and regulatory guidelines related to research.
8. Demonstrated evidence of high-level interpersonal skills, including high level written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult and communicate with staff at all levels, with ability in negotiating and influencing.
9. Demonstrated high level ability to identify problems and opportunities within a complex environment and identify solutions and strategies to meet them.
10. Clinical experience in paediatric intensive care/respiratory area/s desirable although not mandatory.
Generous remuneration package value up to $132,289 p.a.comprising:
11. Salary range of $107,960 to $115,604 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1 )Annual leave with 17.5% loading12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
