About You
The Inpatient Social Work Mental Health team at Campbelltown Hospitals is seeking an experienced Level 4 Social Worker to join their small, close knit team. You will also work closely with another SW Lv 4 to coordinate and manage the daily practice of the social work service to the various mental health units.
Diversity is at the forefront of this role – you will be a versatile social worker with extensive clinical experience. We are looking for someone who has worked in an acute hospital and has provided versatile care within a Mental Health setting. Leading a small team requires a hands on manager who has broad clinical experience. Not only will you be providing a high level clinical supervision, you will also have your own case load to ensure you maintain your highly developed skills in this area.
About the Opportunity
The Social Work Team Leader will have a combined role of both clinical and leadership responsibilities. The position provides professional leadership, governance, clinical supervision and support to Social Workers Level 1-3 working within the Inpatient Mental Health Units.
The Team Leader will maintain a clinical case load in the Young Adult Mental Health Unit and provide a range of advanced practice social work interventions, working at the top of scope within the assigned clinical areas.
The Team Leader will lead and oversee the provision of social work services to consumers, families and carers, develop and lead quality improvement activities, support the professional development of social work staff and assist the Head of Department with human resource management and other relevant departmental administrivia duties.
The Team Leader will work collaboratively with the relevant Nurse Unit Manager to ensure that the psychosocial needs of consumers, families and carers are proactively addressed by the social workers as members of the multidisciplinary team.
What You'll be Doing
This position is responsible for the provision of specialist Social Work service to consumers and their carers in the area of Mental Health Services.
The clinician is responsible for ensuring the provision of optimal health outcomes that are consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
They will also participation in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, consultation, quality activities and other relevant departmental administrative duties

1. A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
2. Extensive post graduate experience working as a Social Worker in relevant clinical areas, including a demonstrated understanding of the health setting, complex health conditions and the impact on wellbeing.
3. Experience working independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
4. Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and verbal), including negotiation and networking skills and demonstrated computer skills.
5. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision and expert advice/consultation to the social work service and external parties in the area of clinical specialty.
6. Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementing, leading and evaluating of quality improvement activities involving the application of evidenced based practice within social work.
