The purpose of this role is to provide field supervision for the delivery of Yellow Crazy Ant Management works, including the management of service quality, technical compliance, worksite safety and budget compliance.The role provides sound technical advice to Ecology Technicians and works closely with the Operations Supervisor – Yellow Crazy Ant to identify resource capability and capacity needs in line with the objectives of the Townsville Yellow Crazy Ant Management Program. This will include:Liaising with residents to gain access to external areas of their property for monitoring, identification or management works.Conducting ant surveys, monitoring, and treatment in various environments, including but not limited to farmland, untrekked mountains and other natural bushland, residential properties, roadsides, parkland, construction and industrial sites.Leading on-ground management activities performed by Ecology Technicians and monitoring their completion, ensuring production and quality targets are achieved, and work schedules are amended to accommodate any changes.About YouOur ideal candidate will have:MandatoryConstruction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)A high level of oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally engage with and influence others.Sound ability to develop and maintain both internal and external work relationships.Townsville City Council Authorised Person and Local Government Worker accreditation, or ability to obtainDemonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to achieve effective solutions to challenges and adapting environments.Effective organisational skills and ability to produce effective and efficient on-ground outcomes for identification, monitoring and management of Yellow Crazy Ants.Experience in applying Workplace Health and Safety in an operational environment, including pre-start inspections and site audits.Certificate III Conservation and Land Management or similar qualification and 1 year experience in the supervision and leadership of staff.Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to operate and lead others safely in remote environments. 4WD training highly regarded.Ability to safely operate and lead others in a range of light plant items, machinery and equipment associated with Yellow Crazy Ant management works.Experience operating computerised equipment (e.g. data loggers, GPS, etc.) including the use of MS Office Suite and business systems.Inspect and Clean Machinery for Plant, Animal and Soil Material competency.Current Pest Management Technicians (Domestic Pest) license, or the ability to obtain.First Aid/CPR Certificate.How to ApplyYour application can be submitted through the 'Apply' button.
