Alfred Health are seeking Expressions of Interest from local and overseas trained Hospital Medical Officers/Resident Medical Officers (HMO/RMOs) who are looking to further enhance their training in Australia.
We provide the most comprehensive range of healthcare services in Victoria through our three hospital campuses, a large network of community programs and 16 state-wide services.
We are looking for positive, committed and inspiring HMO/RMOs, who are dedicated to delivering exceptional care and outstanding outcomes for our patients. We are committed to training the best quality doctors and providing the highest standard of education and support for our staff.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified HMO/RMOs who will be post graduate year 2 or 3/3+ in 2025.
A range of rotations may become available including but not limited to Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Internal Medicine, Aged and Rehab, Relieving* and Trauma, General and Specialty Surgery. As part of your application, you will be asked to list what key rotations you are interested in.
Victorian Clinical Term Dates:
Rotation 1 – 3rd February 2025 - 4th May 2025
Rotation 2 – 5th May 2025 – 3rd August 2025
Rotation 3 – 4th August 2025 – 2nd November 2025
Rotation 4 – 3rd November 2025 – 1st February 2026
*Relieving is when you are assigned to a unit within your rotation to provide additional support or to backfill another doctor who is on leave. You can be assigned to multiple units, Alfred Health and secondment sites (including rural hospitals) during the rotation depending on the need.
The successful applicants should expect to complete their allocated rotations across any of our three Alfred Health campuses (Sandringham Hospital, Caulfield Hospital & The Alfred Hospital).
Applicants with eligibility for general or provisional medical registration with AHPRA will only be considered due to the supervision requirements that can be provided.
Support with AHPRA medical registration and visa sponsorship will be provided to the successful applicant/s. Depending on your registration pathway and where you are trained, this end-to-end process can take approximately 3-6 months for your registration and visa to be fully approved.
