MULGRAVE LOCATION BUSY ROLE USING XERO REALLY LOVELY PEOPLE Located in Mulgrave is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Officer to join a friendly team.
THE ROLE: Reporting to the Accounts Manager some of your key responsibilities will include: Daily receipting of bank feeds for 11 companies (24 accts, 7 credit cards) Monthly bank feed reconciliations Management of fixed asset register (management, addition, reconciliation & depreciation for 4 companies Management of rental properties – entering of rental statements, creating & maintain lease bond register, arranging approvals for maintenance etc Management of insurance and any related claims (buildings, vehicles etc) Debt collection – updating Director on aged receivables twice a week, liaising with collection agencies when needed Assisting with creation and process of credits when needed Monthly credit card payments to suppliers Assisting with payroll when required Creating purchase orders when required Liaising with branches nationally towards the end of month to report on potential sales Processing ASIC Director statements Assisting with any other adhoc accounting or admin related duties as required THE CANDIDATE: To secure this role the ideal candidate will have: Previous experience within a similar role that had an accounting focus with some admin related duties – working within a manufacturing, construction, plumbing etc environment would be great.
Experience using Xero is essential – exposure to inventory management software would be excellent but not essential as long as you can pick systems up quickly.
The kind of personality that is proactive and can work unsupervised – although you will have other team members around you, your manager is remotely based and attends the office once a month (weekly zoom meetings happen to check in and chat but you really do need to be someone who doesn't need to be micro managed).
Strong computer skills (word, excel, outlook etc) – you are someone who has excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Exceptional communication – you will take queries from suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
It's essential you can communicate clearly and confidently.
