About the role Reporting to the Fixed Assets Manager and based onsite at Harvey Norman’s Corporate Office in Homebush West, you will process and reconcile transactions within the Fixed Assets Register ( FAR ) for completeness and accuracy of the consolidated entity’s investment property portfolio and owned property, plant & equipment assets on a monthly basis, currently valued at $4.6 billion as at 30 June 2024. You will have a strong focus on maintaining and reconciling the fixed assets register for Australian owned subsidiaries, however you will be involved in the consolidation, review, and reporting of overseas fixed assets into the consolidated fixed assets register of the HNHL consolidated group. Responsibilities include; Review of capex requests, approved fixed asset invoices and capitalisation of assets into the FAR of the relevant Franchised Complex in Australia in accordance with Company Policy. Monthly charge of franchise fees pertaining to the use of fixed assets by the relevant independent Franchisee Entities. Periodic review of capitalised transactions within the FAR to assess reasonableness of the remaining useful life and its continued use within the business. Monthly reconciliation of the FAR sub-ledger to the General Ledger (SAP S/4HANA). Semi-annual preparation of the Fixed Assets Notes for disclosure in the Half-Year and Year-End Financial Statements of the HNHL Consolidated Group. Coordination of the annual review / validation of capitalised fixed assets by verification of each FAR pertaining to a Franchised Complex. Collaborate across the wider accounting team delivering monthly fixed assets reporting. Assist in the processing and review of leasing transactions leasehold investment property portfolio in Australia and the overseas leasehold portfolio in accordance with AASB 16 Leases. Experience within requirements IT projects or other capitalised assets that may be eligible for R&D tax concessions. Keep up to date with any government initiatives that may be applicable to capitalised that may result in preferential treatment for tax purposes. About you You should possess an accounting or business degree, along with a CPA or CA qualification (or be in the process of completing your CPA or CA). Additionally, you should have experience in fixed assets or relevant financial accounting within a commercial organisation or chartered environment. You will have sound knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standard AASB 16 Leases to assist in the processing and review of leasing transactions leasehold investment property portfolio in Australia and the overseas leasehold portfolio, currently valued at $1.3 billion as at 30 June 2024. You will also have: Sound understanding of Accounting Standards relating to fixed assets. Experience & exposure across AASB 116 Property, Plant & Equipment; AASB 140 Investment Property; AASB 16 Leases; and AASB 138 Intangible Assets. A solid understanding of accounting principles. High attention to detail. Strong and effective communication skills – written and verbal. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with SAP S/4HANA general ledger system is preferred.
