Their diverse team provides front-line technical solutions, ensuring projects meet compliance standards, operate efficiently, and achieve seamless grid connections for renewable energy generation.Your new roleAs a Senior or Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will be based in Melbourne (flexibility in remote roles for those outside of the city). You will have the opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills across various large-scale projects, supporting clients within the power systems and grid connection space for renewable energy generation projects. You will be responsible for the completion and success of many energy projects across the country.Key Responsibilities:Teaching others internally effective skills and techniques to better improve project outcomes and collaboration.Managing a team within the company and ensuring acceptable productivity.Developing models for networks and individual equipment using various tools, particularly DigSilent PowerFactory, PSSE, and PSCAD/EMTDC or similar software.Leading projects through the entire project lifecycle, end-to-end.Performing in-depth power systems studies for energy projects, working closely with developers, investors, NSPs, and AEMO.Focusing on business development when dealing with clients to ensure continued growth.Ensuring all projects are completed in a compliant and up-to-standard manner.Identifying and pursuing opportunities for future growth within the company through potential projects, contributing to business growth.What you will need to succeed:A bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.3+ years' experience within the energy industry.Negotiation skills for the management of various stakeholders and the completion of each project; experience in managing various projects is desirable.Fast-adapting ability to accommodate new ideas and skills to ensure all projects are completed on time.Proficiency in power systems modelling tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD), preferably with experience in utility power systems planning or operations, or within an engineering consultancy.An understanding of data management, including spreadsheets and report generation.A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.What you will get in return:Opportunity to work 100% remote, or 3 days from home.A chance to make a difference to your career and the industry.End-to-end projects, allowing you to see the entire process.A very competitive package, with regular reviews and adjustments.A fast-growing company with an impressive pipeline for you to showcase your knowledge.Potential international opportunities for those that excel in their role.Fun and exciting work environment with optional social activities.What you need to do now:If you're interested in this role, forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to jack.bartlett@hays.com.auor, for a confidential discussion, call Jack on 0447-331-432.
