RANZCO is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead its Assessments and Examinations unit responsible for developing, delivery and continually improving the assessment program for RANZCO's Vocational Training Program (VTP) for ophthalmology.
About RANZCO The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) is the medical college responsible for the training and professional development of ophthalmologists in Australia and New Zealand. RANZCO is the only specialist medical college accredited to train ophthalmologists. We're a membership organisation of 42 staff, located adjacent to Central station.

The Role The Senior Manager Assessments and Examinations will ensure the VTP assessment program remains high quality, fit-for-purpose and confirms that VTP graduates have the capabilities needed to undertake safe, independent, comprehensive, general ophthalmology practice. Key responsibilities of the role include:
Leading and managing the Assessments and Examinations unit.Providing expert advice and collaborating with ophthalmologists and staff to co-design and deliver curriculum-aligned, fit-for-purpose assessments and examinations which meet the accreditation requirements of the Australian Medical Council (AMC).Explaining and promoting examination and assessment changes to office holders, committees, trainees, examiners, staff and other stakeholders and providing guidance to assist them to implement the changes.Providing and/or obtaining advice to appropriately adjust assessments and examinations for trainees with special considerations for assessments and examinations.Providing expert administrative support for the Examinations and Assessments and Trainee Progression committees.Maintaining policy, procedures and systems in the unit's areas of responsibility. Degree in education, preferably at postgraduate level.Demonstrated experience providing high level advice and co-designing assessments and examinations with subject matter experts for higher education programs.Demonstrated experience leading teams which plan, manage, develop and deliver assessments and examinations.Demonstrated experience implementing, updating and using digital applications to design and deliver examinations and assessments.Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice and administrative support to office holders and committees.Demonstrated experience operationalising, transitioning and delivering educational change.
