Communications Technician
Service Stream’s Telecommunications division are currently seeking a Communications Technician to join our Ferntree Gully workforce.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Ferntree Gully, Victoria
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will be primarily responsible for being part of the Field Delivery Team, working as part of a team or as an individual contributor at times. You will be involved in building, maintaining, and decommissioning Telecommunication Networks, including but not limited to Optus, Uecomm, NBN, Telstra, TPG, Telco Authorities, and Power Utility.
The Field Delivery Team will work across multiple work types and clients, reporting into the State Field Delivery Manager.
* Work onsite/in field as part of one or multiple crews daily.
* Willing and able to be part of a rostered On Call Availability, including working outside normal working hours on a regular basis.
* Willing and able to work away from home from time to time.
* Communicate/report on scheduled works changes to the Field Supervisor.
* Participate in actual site start-up (i.e., mandatory pre-start activities).
About You
* Hold a current Driver’s license.
* Construction OH&S Induction Card.
* Hold MR or higher Truck License.
* Experience in an Infrastructure Services environment.
* Experience in the Telecommunications industry.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel & Outlook.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to respond calmly and decisively during a major incident or emergency.
* Ability to work autonomously within teams.
* Experience working at heights.
