Director-General
The Director-General of the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism plays a crucial role in shaping the Queensland Government's vision for Queensland. Key commitments include restoring safety, reinstating health services, returning respect for finances, reimagining homes, and redesigning government to serve the people.
The Department fosters an environment that allows Queensland women to be economically secure. The Director-General works closely with other agencies, peak bodies, local leaders, and the community to improve the living standards of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and create a welcoming environment for multicultural communities in Queensland.
Leading the Department
As Director-General, you will drive gender equality by focusing on policy and leadership that enhances the lives of women and girls, promotes the economic and social integration of culturally diverse Queenslanders, and delivers programs and services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Providing strategic leadership with a clear vision, communication, governance, and values-based management.
* Maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders through diplomatic management practices.
* Mobilizing effective governance, administration, and operation of the department, fostering accountability for performance.
* Coordinating services to support the Minister's priorities as outlined in the Ministerial Charter Letter.
* Pursuing transparent administration of the department's legislation to promote its purpose.
* Modeling high standards of ethical behavior and decision-making transparency.
* Leading through awareness, demonstrating problem-solving and decision-making skills, and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Please note, this role is Brisbane-based, and applicants must be willing to relocate if not already based in Brisbane.
