Sharp & Carter are currently partnering with SSH Group to help source a Senior Financial Accountant in a newly created position.
SSH Group is an ASX-listed group with a portfolio of essential service businesses, focused on service delivery to the Australian mining, civil and construction industries.
Sitting under their Equipment Division, this role will report directly through to the Group Financial Controller, and partner with the operational teams by providing day to day support and financial insights.
The Role
The primary purpose of the Senior Financial Accountant role is to manage and maintain end to end accounting, the financial general ledger, manage debtors, work with asset finance providers, proactively manage cashflow, provide day-to-day operational financial support, ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, and support reporting and budgeting processes to enhance financial stability and operational efficiency.
1. Financial Management and Reporting: Oversee the maintenance of the financial general ledger, prepare weekly and monthly reports with variance analysis, and support the preparation of budgeting and forecasting materials for review by senior management.
2. Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with ATO, OSR, and other regulatory requirements, including the preparation and submission of IAS, BAS, and FBT returns, and ensure adherence to Delegation of Authority (DOA) and financial policies.
3. Cashflow and Treasury Management: Prepare weekly -week cashflow forecasts, manage debt and funding compliance, and ensure timely execution of SG payments and other financial obligations.
4. Operational Support: Provide day-to-day financial support to operations, including insights and variance analysis for the General Financial Controller (GFC), Executive General Manager, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities and business risks.
5. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual, quarterly budgets and forecasts, provide detailed draft analysis for review, and support the development of financial strategies and plans to achieve organisational goals.
About You
6. You have recently qualified as CA or CPA, or have a one to two units left to complete
7. Strong understanding of and experience in management and reporting for balance sheet, assets/capital.
8. First movers from Public Practice will be looked favorably upon.
9. Strong communication skills and clearly able to demonstrate your ability to influence.
10. You are an individual who has a key focus on work ethic and excellence.
