An exciting opportunity exists for a Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead the newly redeveloped Emergency Department at Nambour General Hospital. This dynamic role requires an experienced and motivated nursing leader to provide advanced, person-centred care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The NUM will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective patient outcomes, drive rapid access and patient flow, and manage unit resources, staffing, and financial integrity. As part of an $86 million redevelopment, the department includes acute adult and paediatric areas, a Nurse Practitioner-led rapid review area, and resuscitation bays, supporting a growing demand of up to 140 presentations daily.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
* Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) – State 2015 – Generic Level Statements Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Public Service values.
* Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
* Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Nominated as Medicine Store and S8 Safe Manager as per the Substance Management Plan for SCHHS Regulated Places, as required.
Remuneration value up to $164,212 p.a., comprising salary between $132,562 - $143,924 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (NRG 7).
