Tuggeranong Valley Rugby Union Football Club (Vikings) is a community rugby in Canberra ACT that fields six teams in the ACTRU competition and supports the Vikings Junior Rugby Union. From humble beginnings in 1973 and with the support of the 'The Vikings Group', the club has developed into one of the leading rugby clubs in Australia and has a proud history of success at all levels. Vikings Rugby has strong ambitions to continue to develop the quality of its programs and community and are seeking a Pathways and Development Manager.About the roleTo support the strategic growth and development of rugby union in the Tuggeranong Valley region, the Pathways and Development Manager will focus on the promotion of rugby union in the Tuggeranong Valley, aligning senior and junior rugby philosophies, and influencing the quality of our pathway programs (Gen Red U16/U18 and Colts).As a key member of the Vikings Rugby staff, the Pathways and Development Manager will aim to achieve the following:Increase participation in Vikings Junior Rugby ClubStrengthen the relationship of junior and senior rugby communities.Coordinate the Gen Red Program (U16 / U18) as the leading underage program in Canberra.Drive pathway opportunities inclusive of increasing player representative numbers in ACTJRU, ACT Schools and Brumbies programsEnsure the on going quality and performance of Vikings Colts (U20) program in conjuction with Gen Red oversightReporting to the Coaching Director/1st Grade Head Coach and General Manager, the key duties will include:Development, implementation, and accountability of rugby development programs for U20 and younger age groups in collaboration with Coaching Director and General Manager.Develop strategies in community engagement, school relationships and senior / junior program alignment to promote and increase participation of rugby union in the Tuggeranong Valley.Development and delivery of clearly defined athlete and coach development pathways for underage representative programs.Development, promotion and delivery of school holidays programs at Viking Park.Head Coach of U18 Div 1or Colts Programs.Maintaining accurate records and reports for both Vikings Group and Rugby Club Board Reports.Assist in Rugby Club operational tasks and events as directed by Viking Rugby Executive, Coaching Director, or General Manager.About youWe are looking for someone with the following qualifications, skills, traits, and experiences:Experience in developing, implementing, and managing junior and senior rugby programs.Knowledge and understanding of Rugby AU Community Policies and Guidelines.Proven contemporary leadership skills.Ability to connect with members of the community of all ages and gender.Demonstrated ability to positively influence, establish and develop working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Excellent administration skills.Ability to work individually and as part of a team.Canberra, ACT (Office located at Viking Park, Wanniassa)Part Time or Full Time (dependant on applicant)Accommodation assistance available
