Your opportunity As a Data Solutions Developer (Data Engineer), you design, build, and maintain data solutions that drive advanced analytics and support key decision-making across EQL. Your focus is on transforming and preparing data to meet business needs, ensuring infrastructure enables seamless data analysis, model development, and AI integration.
From developing scalable data pipelines to managing high-performance storage systems, you ensure architectures handle large volumes of data efficiently. Your work guarantees smooth information flow, providing reliable data pipelines that underpin machine learning and advanced analytics initiatives.
Day to day, you construct and optimise data architectures using tools like data lakes and warehouses while addressing performance bottlenecks. Working closely with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Operations Specialists, you prepare datasets and integrate machine learning models into operational workflows, engaging in every phase of the development lifecycle – from design and testing to deployment and ongoing support.
This role can be based at any one of our major EQL locations including Brisbane, Toowoomba, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, or Cairns.
The remuneration for your new role is from $151K per annum (9 day fortnight) + 14.75% superannuation to $171k per annum (10 day fortnight) + 14.75% superannuation.

Alternatively, you have the hands-on experience required for success.You bring practical experience in developing data pipelines, working with cloud environments, and managing large datasets.Your expertise extends to data storage architectures, ETL processes, data governance & security and modern analytics platforms.Proficient in programming languages like Python, SQL, or R, you also have knowledge of big data frameworks such as Apache Spark.With strong communication skills, you're adept at translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.We'd also love you to have: Familiarity with machine learning algorithms, statistical modelling, and predictive analytics techniques along with MLOps concepts is an advantage.Certifications in platforms such as Databricks, AWS or Microsoft Azure are highly desirable.What matters most?
