Mount Morgan MPHS services a population of approximately 3500 people and is an old historic gold mining rural township in the Mount Morgan ranges 39kms from Rockhampton. It is a 30-minute drive to Rockhampton airport with multiple daily flights direct to Brisbane and a 1-hour drive to the Capricorn Coast.
About the role:
The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) provides safe, efficient, quality medical services to inpatients and outpatients of the Mount Morgan Multipurpose Health Service including the provision of 24-hour emergency department coverage.
This position includes undertaking Private Practice at a surgery co-located within the Mount Morgan MPHS in Morgan Street. An opportunity exists to maintain selected skills at the Mount Morgan Multipurpose Health Service, and it is intended the Senior Medical Officer will maximise his or her professional development as part of this appointment.
About you:
* Mandatory qualifications: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA), Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Current certificates in:
o Advanced Life Support (ALS)
o Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS)
o Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST)
* Enrolment / Acceptance onto a GP training program that will facilitate a provider number with access to Medical benefits for the private practice.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $458,657 p.a. is comprised of:
* A salary rate between $182,106 - $187,801 p.a. (L13-L14)
* A salary rate between $182,106 - $210,332 p.a. (L13-L18)
* A salary rate between $210,332 - $251,527 p.a. (L18-L25)
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
* 17.5% leave loading
