About the roleOur team is growing! We are looking for passionate team members to support the day-to-day operations of our kitchens and deliver service at events. This role will primarily work out of our Elsternwick kitchen, however may also be required to service our Northside venues from time to time. The role involves working on a rotating roster that includes weekdays, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Sponsorship is available, however, the candidate must already be in Australia to apply. Some responsibilities include:Menu planningEstimating food and labor costsLiaising with suppliersMonitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentationFreezing and preserving foodsEnsuring hygiene and food safety in accordance with guidelinesSkills, experience & requirements/qualificationsMinimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or 4+ years of relevant experience as a CDP or Junior Sous ChefAbility to lead teams as the Chef in Charge onsite at eventsPassionate about catering and producing quality foodSound cookery techniques and willingness to learn new onesWorks well under pressure with attention to detailPositive, punctual, and professional approachHappy to work hard & get hands dirty when neededExcellent communication skills and team playerFull vaccination against COVID-19 or genuine medical exemptionCompetency in ordering and managing stockValid Victorian Drivers license and comfortable driving a van or small truckManual handling required to unload food from trucks/vansAvailability to work a rotating roster including weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidaysCertificate IV in Commercial Cookery (essential)Food Safety trained (desired)Certificate or Diploma in event/hotel management (desired)Why work with usAt Refresh Hospitality, we work hard and laugh often.
