About the Unit The department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery is large and provides adult and paediatric services to Dandenong, Clayton, Casey, Moorabbin and Monash Children's. The unit is staffed with 20 consultants, 2 fellows, 4 college appointed registrars, 4 unaccredited registrars and 6 support staff (nursing/clerical). About the Role To support and assist the Director of the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Unit, Monash Health in the provision of high quality Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Services at Monash Health sites, consistent with the Monash Health values. Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care. Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care. Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Unit, Monash Health. The Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Unit at Monash Health is unique in that it is the only major health service in Victoria treating both children and adults for diseases of the ear, nose and throat. The unit looks after patients from early infancy and covers the whole range of diseases of the ear, nose and throat affecting all age groups. The specialist service at Monash ranges from General Paediatric and Adult ENT, Complex paediatrics, Complex Rhinology, Complex Otology, Snoring and Sleep apnoea Surgery, Laryngology, Head and Neck as well as reconstructive surgery. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person centred care, provide teaching and supervision of specialist registrar trainees and enhance your career in your chosen subspecialist field. The Unit also has a dedicated research portfolio and provides support and supervision to candidates wishing to complete a higher degree. Multiple research projects are completed under its banner each year leading to publications and presentations. The unit is also involved in some multi-centre trials.
