Position Purpose: The Child Safeguarding Officer's primary purpose is the continual review and improvement of school and system Child Safeguarding Programs across the Diocese through education with training and compliance. As Child Safeguarding Officer, this role supports the underlying Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Lismore by delivering services that contribute to enabling students to achieve the fullness of life. Work Requirements: A current/valid Australian Driver's Licence Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain if successful Requirement to travel between locations. Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g. social work, social welfare, human resources, law; or, at least five years relevant industry experience. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Work Experience: Comprehensive understanding of the NSW Child Safe Standards. Experience designing and delivering training and education to adult learners, ideally to meet NESA accreditation requirements. Experience with compliance and risk management frameworks. Key Capabilities: Demonstrated capability to provide leadership with appropriate advice and strategies for continual review and improvement of the DLCS Safeguarding Program. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across the DLCS, schools and with external stakeholders. Highly developed written skills, with the ability to write clearly and succinctly. The ability to research and participate in policy, training development and delivery. Capacity to work in a team. Current working experience in the use of Google Suite, including Gmail, Google docs, Google sheets, Google slides and Google drive would be an advantage.
