Our IT division is headed up by an experienced IT project manager so, when you work with us, you will be working with someone understands your requirements based on real-world experience.12 month contractMid-May startOpen to Australian CitizensAbout the role:A large Federal Agency is looking to engage an experienced Interaction Designer to work with their Agricultural Design team.The Agriculture Design System (AgDS) is an open-source product that enables designers and developers to create high quality, inclusive and consistent user experiences, quickly and efficiently.The Agricultural Design team provides design services to the Department and these services are utilised by significant programs of work and the Digital Business Division in the development of their digital products.ResponsibilitiesContribute to all research and codesign design activities to deliver new components, documentation, interaction patterns, templates and artefacts.Promote the systems design principles and visual language and ensure they are applied consistently by the team and consumers of the system.Work with technical specialists and provide detailed design specifications that include interactive states and focus management to inform developer workflows.Support a community of design system users to understand, apply, and contribute to the design system.Present in public forums, facilitate workshops, provide interaction design reviews and advice to promote the system and help ensure high quality and consistent design is achieved and maintained across a suite of digital products.Experience:At least 10 years' experience as an Interaction Designer for large, complex, multi-faceted systems.Extensive experience supporting and influencing designers and developers who use the design system to uphold design principles and the standards of the system to achieve high quality consistent user experiences.Extensive experience contributing to human-centered design processes and conducting usability testing with all users, including those with disabilities, to ensure the design system is usable and inclusive.Extensive experience building, publishing and maintaining a comprehensive design system library and artefacts using Figma.A working knowledge of HTML, CSS is also beneficial to the role.Seniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: ContractJob function: Information TechnologyIndustries: Government Administration
