This pivotal role will directly support the financial health and strategic direction of the Property Group's development activities, based in the heart of Melbourne. Currently embarking on an ambitious set of long-term projects, the property business is poised for significant growth and as such, a newly created Finance Manager role is required to help sustain that growth. About the Role Reporting to the Managing Director and Financial Controller, you will manage the accounting and finance functions across the Property Group, ensuring financial systems, controls, and processes align with the company's growth trajectory. Your expertise will drive operational efficiency, help manage financial reporting for both internal stakeholders and external investors, and guide the business in making informed financial decisions. Managing important external relationships and taking the lead on ensuring the success of key projects will be you main focus as the group continues its expansion. Key responsibilities include: Overseeing the property group's accounting and finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and financial statement preparation. Producing financial reports for investors and liaising with external stakeholders, including financiers and government departments. Working with senior executives to evaluate and refine new property development proposals and manage existing projects. Maintaining and updating detailed financial models to support business decision-making. Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory laws, taxes, and regulatory requirements, including preparing business activity statements and managing property tax compliance. Driving process improvements to enhance operational performance and reporting efficiency Key Accountabilities: Finance & Business Management: Manage day-to-day financial operations, forecasting, and budgeting for property developments. Report to senior executives with financial analysis and performance insights. Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities to improve business efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve reporting quality. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal teams and external consultants, ensuring that all financial operations align with broader business objectives and deliver value. Key relationships include with financiers, government departments, external consultants and the groups executive team. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, along with a professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA). A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or business consulting, with a strong background in property or real estate industry roles. Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting, with advanced Excel and accounting software skills. The ability to analyse and interpret financial statements, investment models, and other key business metrics. Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage teams in a fast-paced, boutique environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
