Draftsperson
About the Role:Our leading client is seeking an experienced Draftsperson Civil Engineer with Associate Degree or equivalent Civil Engineering or appropriate tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or Surveying with extensive experience in civil engineering design, including demonstrated skills in computer aided design and drafting. Key Responsibilities:Ensure all design work is completed in accordance with current industry standards and industry best practice.Provide technical support to Civil Engineering Professionals in areas of asset management, civil construction and maintenance.Estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within CASA and project specific specifications, regulations and contract provisionsPreparing plans for laboratory tests of construction materials and soils, and data collections for air traffic surveys where required.Prepare plans of surveys, including set out of works using CAD and 12d.Undertake as-build drawings of construction activities as required.Undertake computer aided design and draftingProvide input into the development and maintenance of design standards, specifications, service levels, policies, and guidelines for all works functions and facilities.Prepare preliminary and final project cost estimates, including Bill of Quantities. 12. Provide technical input to team projects.Evaluate civil engineering proposals to ensure compliance with standards and recommend appropriate conditions.Ensures all works are carried out in accordance with CASA regulations.Ensures ethical behaviour in all dealings and to strive for continuous improvement in the workplace and excellence in client satisfaction.Comply with CASA regulations, Risk Management and Occupational Safety and Health policies and procedures. Key Requirements: Current Australian C class drivers licence. Working knowledge of technical standards and specifications relating to air, road and drainage design such as CASA, AustRoads, and Australian Standards. Proficiency in the use of computer software including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Project, Civil 3D / Auto CAD, and 12d. Sound knowledge of airport design and geotechnical investigation principles. Sound knowledge of asset management principles and concepts. Previous experience in airport runway design in both urban and rural environments. Previous experience initiating and managing projects with assets and infrastructure Experience in applying relevant legislative, statutory and industry standards in relation to civil engineering design. Demonstrated experience investigating, analysing and resolving difficult design problems. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision on a diverse range of designprojects. High level written, interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. Highly developed computer literacy skills. Demonstrated ability to present accurate, concise and timely results on relevant matters. Proven ability to work independently or effectively as part of a team. Proven ability to follow instruction. Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required. Job title: Draftsperson
