The Role An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic full time Health Information Services Officer to join our Health Information Services team. The Health Information Services Officer will require the ability to work flexible hours Monday to Friday, including shifts until 6.00pm. Reporting to the Health Information Services Team Leader, the Health Information Services Officer is responsible for the day-to-day functionality of the Health Information Services department. The duties of the Health Information Services Officers will primarily consist of maintaining medical records including: Compiling medical records of discharged patients, ensuring all forms are in the correct order Retrieval of medical records from off-site storage and collections from wards Sorting and filing of medical records in main file in terminal digit filing order Culling of medical records to be moved to our offsite storage facility Management of incoming telephone calls Sorting and filing of incoming correspondence, reports and results Provision of health information to internal and external clients according to Healthscope's Release of Information policy. Selection Criteria: Excellent customer service skills Well-developed oral and written communication skills Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook) Attention to detail. Desirable Criteria: Experience in an administrative role in a health care setting Experience with WebPAS Patient Administration System Understanding of patient privacy and confidentiality principles Knowledge of medical terminology.
