Join our team as an Administrative Assistant for the Science and Engineering Challenge (SEC) – a nationally recognised initiative within the National STEM Outreach Program. Why work with us? The Science and Engineering Challenge delivers hands-on, competitive STEM experiences to high school and primary school students across Australia. As part of a team recently awarded by the United Nations for excellence in STEM education, you’ll be instrumental in creating unforgettable learning experiences that ignite curiosity and innovation. Your role This diverse and rewarding role will have you supporting multiple team members and committees nationwide. Key responsibilities include: Event Coordination : Liaise with regional organising committees to plan and execute successful SEC events. Documentation and Logistics : Prepare and distribute event materials and coordinate travel and accommodation for the team. Equipment Management : Maintain, prepare, and repair STEM activity kits for events. Event Delivery : Assist with organisation and setup of ‘Challenge Days’ for students in Years 9-10, ensuring safety and smooth operations, training staff nationwide. A sub role within the Engagement (social media etc) or Activity Development units of the program About you We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who thrives on creating seamless event experiences. Your skills include: Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders. Practical problem-solving and adaptability to manage logistics and dynamic events. A passion for education and engaging young minds with STEM. Experience in event planning, social media, administration, or working in educational programs will be highly regarded.
