This role is responsible for delivering quality procurement and contract management practices across the City to achieve the best value for money.
Reporting to the Contracts and Procurement Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring procurement compliance, supporting strategic sourcing, and driving efficiency in procurement activities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Administering and implementing procurement and contract management frameworks Supporting departments in developing sourcing strategies that align with compliance and best practice Coordinating end-to-end procurement activities, including pre-market assessments, tenders, evaluations, and contract performance management Partnering with internal stakeholders to forecast needs and develop proactive procurement strategies Ensuring contracts are established in accordance with legislation, policies, and best practices Facilitating negotiation strategies and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are met for suppliers and contractors Providing expert advice to departments to optimise procurement processes and mitigate risk To read the full position description, please click here.
About You To qualify, you will need tertiary qualifications in procurement or a related discipline, along with demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management or the willingness to learn.
Local Government experience is highly desirable.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued: Strong knowledge of procurement and contract management principles Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and policies Experience in supplier negotiations and contract performance management Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Proficiency in procurement systems and records management A proactive and solutions-focused approach to improving procurement operations Good time management and organisation skills to handle multiple priorities effectively High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality You must also possess a current WA 'C' Class Driver's Licence and a satisfactory National Police Clearance .
