Your understanding of diesel combustion systems, hydraulic circuits, and pneumatic systems will ensure our fleet operates at peak performance.
Working hands-on with Load Haul Dump (LHD) machines, graders, personnel transporters, and longwall move equipment, you'll troubleshoot and resolve faults, overhaul major components, and play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability.
Key Skills & Experience – What We're Looking ForTo be considered for this role, a Certificate III in Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitter/Diesel Mechanic) or an equivalent trade qualification is essential.
In addition, you'll ideally bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
Diesel engine fault finding, overhaul, and tuning.Hydraulic systems – diagnosis, testing, and repair.Pneumatic systems – maintenance, troubleshooting, and fuel/valve resets on Caterpillar engines.Reading and interpreting technical schematics and manuals.Applying preventative maintenance practices to extend equipment life and minimise downtime.A strong commitment to safety in all aspects of your work.Highly Regarded, But Not EssentialPost-apprenticeship workshop mechanical trade experience (2+ years).Familiarity with diesel combustion, pneumatic or hydraulic systems.Experience working on underground equipment.Who We AreBis is a recognised leader in Australia's underground coal mining support sector.
