Monash Health Gastroenterology Consultant
We seek a gastroenterologist to join our vibrant and thriving academic gastroenterology service at Monash Health. As part of south eastern Melbourne's uniquely integrated primary, secondary and tertiary health services, we provide access to world-renowned research and teaching facilities.
Our Journey
Monash Gastroenterology is Victoria's largest gastroenterology unit, caring for 3,000 inpatients per year, performing 10,000 endoscopic procedures, and seeing 18,000 outpatients annually across various specialty clinics.
About the Role
The Gastroenterology Consultant will provide care to patients in endoscopy, hospital wards, infusional suites, and ambulatory care clinics and suites within Monash Health. Successful applicants must be accredited to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy and maintain competencies required by GESA and RACP.
* Supervise inpatient services with registrars and junior medical officers
* Provide inpatient consultation to other hospital units
* Deliver endoscopic services at Monash Clayton, Dandenong and Casey Hospitals
* Attend weekly hospital and community-based outpatient clinics
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings based on subspecialty interest
* Participate in Clinical Sciences meeting/journal club and pathology/radiology review and teaching sessions
* Join the 24-hour on-call roster for admissions, inpatient services, and urgent endoscopy
About You
Required qualifications include:
* MBBS (or equivalent) FRACP, CCCTRGE accreditation
* Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
