Non-Executive Director & Company Secretary Non-Executive Director & Company Secretary (voluntary position) RSPCA Tasmania is a well-known and highly loved organisation that has been a voice for Tasmanian animals for more than 140 years. RSPCA Tasmania was founded in 1878 with a mission to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. Today, RSPCA Tasmania is governed by a highly dedicated Board of Directors which is now seeking to appoint a new Director to strengthen their team and also perform the role of Company Secretary. It is an exciting time to be joining the Board with the animal welfare sector undergoing a large amount of change in Tasmania and nationally. The Board is inviting interest from Tasmanian residents who are keen to be actively involved in contributing to the next phase of RSPCA Tasmania's journey into the next 100 years and beyond. In particular, the Board is seeking an individual who has skills in the following area: Company Secretary duties and responsibilities Candidates should also possess an understanding of governance processes, director responsibilities ideally within a not-for-profit environment, and/or director qualifications. Previous experience as a director or reporting to a board is preferred but not essential. We are looking for a candidate with a heart and passion for improving animal welfare outcomes in Tasmania. The Board fosters a culture of inclusion valuing individual strengths, perspectives, and experiences. Candidates who share that commitment and/or who identify and connect with typically under-represented groups within the community are particularly welcome. The director with the role of Company Secretary will be appointed to a three-year term and the position is voluntary. Whilst there is no remuneration for our Board of Directors, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. Board meetings are held outside business hours, on the fourth Tuesday of every second month, and generally last for three hours. In addition, committees meet either monthly or bi-monthly.
