Position Information Queanbeyan South Public School provides a dynamic and inclusive educational environment for 420 students located close to the border of the Australian Capital Territory on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. Students represent 35 cultural backgrounds with 25% identifying as Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander. The school has four district Supported Learning Classes and one district Opportunity Class for gifted and talented students. It also has an onsite Ngurranbai Transition to School Program running three days a week. The school has an extensive Kitchen Garden Program. Selection Criteria · Approval to teach Infants and Primary (K-6) with demonstrated knowledge to deliver high quality, literacy and numeracy programs with the use of data to inform differentiated teaching and learning. · Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to encourage and build on student family relationships. · Commitment to and understanding of Aboriginal Education with a demonstrated capacity to develop and implement highly effective and culturally appropriate learning experiences and programs. · Ability and willingness to contribute to whole school positive wellbeing programs and extracurricular activities, included but not limited to coordinating sport, to support the positive culture within the school.
