Your new role
Our client has an opportunity for an experienced Sunshine Coast / North Brisbane-based Project Engineer to head up this exciting new roads / construction project. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure successful delivery of projects safely within the most cost and time-effective manner.
Responsibilities will include:
* Implementing and creating innovative, cost-efficient construction methodologies and techniques.
* Working actively with supervisors and the workforce to ensure the highest level of productivity.
* Produce construction programs for projects together with Superintendents and Supervisors.
* Continuous monitoring of the program throughout the life of the project ensures milestones are completed on time.
* Resource planning as required to achieve the project initiatives.
* Identify required variations, quantity increases or decreases and any additional scope of works to produce appropriate variation correspondence.
* Cost monitoring for activities and adjusting if required.
* Preparation and analysis of end of month project costs reports.
* Monitor environmental controls.
What you'll need to succeed:
* A degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Business from an accredited Tertiary institution.
* Demonstrated significant civil engineering experience.
* Management and leadership skills and a proven ability to lead a team.
* Recent experience of overseeing road projects along with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well both autonomously and in a dynamic team environment.
* TMR Project Experience is highly regarded (but not essential).
