Our member, TasSpan, is seeking an experienced, highly passionate Project Engineer to:
Provide technical leadership and support to ensure project success. Manage the administrative functions of the project and act as a key liaison with the workers. Coordinate and oversee subcontractors to ensure programs are met. Drive the implementation of efficient construction methodologies while adhering to best practices. Enforce compliance with Work Health & Safety, Environmental Management, and Quality Systems. Conduct unit cost analysis, prepare cost claims, and manage contract notices. What do we offer you?

An Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification. Proven experience in the civil construction industry, with a focus on civil construction or similar projects. Comprehensive knowledge of Council specifications. Strong ability to interpret and work with detailed plans. Exceptional planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to travel within Tasmania. Key Responsibilities:
Analyse risks associated with the delivery of construction activities, ensuring project performance monitoring and reporting. Interpret project specifications - Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects. Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project status. Contribute to procurement requirements, tender assessments and evaluation to support the management and administration of the contract, approved proposed variations and resolution of contractual disputes. Contribute to project schedule, milestones and key deliverables to ensure construction activities are safe and disruption, delay and inconvenience minimised for clients. Analyse the effects and significances of, but not limited to, noise and vibration, air quality, traffic and transport, heritage, waste, water and energy management to minimise impacts on the environment. Interact with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field. Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support. Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Set and maintain the quality control standards throughout the project. Ensure compliance with regulations to promote the safety and security of workers. Oversee the entire project to ensure the technical specifications are met, including design changes and necessary adjustments to accommodate client requirements. Provide regular reports to the management on the status of projects, including recommendations for potential alterations to meet the delivery timeline or improve quality.
